Ignorance is Bliss...Except When You're the Boss!

If you don't know about something, you don't need to worry about it. This saying may be true for some people. For YOU, it can’t be further from the truth. When we get asked about Razor Tracking and what we do, 90% of the time we get a chuckle followed by "I don't even want to know what they’re doing or where my guys are." We find this pretty confusing and always find ourselves asking "WHAT!? As an owner or the boss how could you even say something like that?" Who knows - maybe it’s just a typical managerial joking response when someone brings up fleet tracking. But, could it possibly be that they seriously don't want to know what’s going on as long as the work gets done in a decent amount of time?

Ask yourself: if you could increase your efficiency by 25-30% in 90 days – meaning you literally get more done, make more profit, and cut monthly costs by implementing a fleet tracking system – BUT in the process of doing so found out that an employee of 20 years has been taking a two hour break every day while running all his errands on company time. What is all that wasted time worth to the company? How much could you have gotten done had he been productive the whole time in those 20 years? What if all the time he spent doing his own thing actually costed YOUR company tens of thousands of dollars? Now that’s a lot of what-ifs, but those are real what ifs that happen every day. This is why I’m sure we typically get a laugh and “I don’t even want to know what’s going on”. It’s scary to think you would have to face the fact that thousands of dollars are flowing out the back door due to employees being unproductive.

Unproductive employees cost the work force nearly $600 billion per year (Proudfood Consulting) with almost 29% of company time being unproductive. YES, your company contributed to those stats. There are tools out there to eliminate that problem and keep that money in the company. I'm going to share three major tools we have that you can use RIGHT NOW to make sure your company doesn't contribute to those stats anymore.

1. Current Tracking

Simply being able to see where everyone is at is going to be one of the biggest tools you use. With this you have the ability to break down what you see by vehicle, vehicle groups, locations, or departments. This gives you the chance to see what you want to see and when you want to see it, to dispatch smoother, to load faster, and to get more done in a day with this tool.

2. Map History

Razor Tracking gives you the chance to go back and see the exact routes your people are taking. With this you can see which routes are really the fastest and most efficient. You can check to see stop times, delivery times and duration, excess idle times, how many trips you made in a day, and any off-routing that may be costing your company money. If you can’t learn from history you are doomed to repeat it. With map history you can learn from past mistakes and make sure you are getting the most out of the day.

3. Vehicle History Report

This tool is helping companies right now to save thousands every month in excess overtime, inaccurate billing, inaccurate drive time and even more.  With this report you can double check all of that at the end of the day, week, or month. This report will ensure that there is no money getting pushed out the back door while you’re not watching.

These 3 tools are turnkey ready to go when you get Razor Tracking. Don't cost your company, or possibly your job when it comes to efficiency. Ignorance is not bliss when you are running the show. In the times that we are in right now you MUST know where every dollar and minute of working time is going. If time is money, then you must create more time to create more money which means cutting EVERY inefficiency you can to ensure your company thrives.

One last question. If it came down to your company staying in business or to keeping your job in said company...would you still laugh and not want to know what your guys are doing?
